Japanese tyre manufacturer Yokohama and fuel producer Panta Racing have been named as partners of the new World Touring Car Cup motor-racing series.
Yokohama will serve as the official tyre supplier of the WTCR, with Panta to become the series’ official fuel supplier. The two-year deals will cover the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
The WTCR was formed in December through a licensing agreement between the World Touring Car Championship and TCR series. The series is overseen by the International Automobile Federation (FIA).
Yokohama supplied tyres to the WTCC for more than a decade. Panta, an Italian company, also served as the official fuel of the WTCC and currently holds the same role with the World Rally Championship.
The 2018 WTCR season gets underway on April 7-8 with an event in Marrakech, Morocco.
