Singapore property developer OUE Limited has extended its title sponsorship of the Singapore Open badminton tournament, according to various media reports.
The new deal will run for three years, from 2015 to 2017.
Under the extended deal, agreed with the Singapore Badminton Association national governing body, the tournament will continue to be known as the OUE Singapore Open.
OUE will also reportedly contribute S$2.2m (€1.4m/$1.7m) in cash to the event throughout the duration of the sponsorship deal.
Lee Yi Shyan, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and president of the national organisation, said: “We look forward to jointly making this event a highlight for all badminton fans and hope that through the OUE
Singapore Open, we can enhance the profile of badminton and inspire the next generation of shuttlers.”
The 2015 edition of the event, which will form part of the Badminton World Federation’s World SuperSeries line-up, will take place at the Singapore Indoor stadium from April 7-12.
