Orange pounces for Marseille stadium naming rights

French telecommunications company Orange has sealed a naming rights deal for the Stade Vélodrome, the home of Ligue 1 football club Olympique de Marseille.

The stadium will be known as the Orange Vélodrome from the end of the Uefa Euro 2016 national team tournament, which will start in France this Friday and will feature the venue.

The length of the sponsorship agreement was not disclosed, but reports suggest that the deal could run for 10 seasons, from 2016-17 to 2025-26.

The stadium has undergone a €550m ($625m) renovation ahead of Euro 2016 to increase the capacity to 67,000.
