Broadband company Openreach has signed a four-year sponsorship deal with PRO14 club Ulster Rugby, starting this season.
Under the deal, the Openreach logo will appear on on the right-hand sleeve of the the team’s playing shirt. Openreach will also get branding across Ulster Rugby’s Kingspan Stadium.
Openreach builds, maintains and manages the broadband network in Northern Ireland. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of UK telco BT Group. The BT brand logo emblazoned both shirt sleeves last season.
Mairead Meyer, director of Openreach in Northern Ireland, said: “This four-year contract cements Openreach as one of Ulster Rugby’s biggest supporters and demonstrates our commitment to investing in Northern Ireland.”
Ulster Rugby’s sponsorship portfolio is led by its main shirt sponsor and stadium naming rights partner, the building materials company Kingspan. Its other shirt sponsors are Bank of Ireland, BT and Go Power.
Abbey Insurance sponsors the Ulster Rugby Academy and Kingspan Stadium’s’s Family Stand.
Ulster Rugby’s kit partner is the UK-based sports brand Kukri.
