NRL’s Cowboys fuelled by Tropic Petroleum deal

Australian fuel and lubricant distributor Tropic Petroleum has upgraded its existing deal with NRL rugby league team North Queensland Cowboys to become a major sponsor for the 2014 season.

Additionally, North Queensland and Australia forward James Tamou will serve as a brand ambassador for Tropic Petroleum.

“It’s exciting for us as a North Queensland business to be an even bigger part of the Cowboys this season,” Tropic chief executive Jamie Regan said. “The club has been great to deal with and we can see the clear advantages of being part of the Cowboys so we’ve decided to upgrade to the major sponsor level this year.”

To celebrate the expanded deal, Tropic awarded A$20 (€13/$17.62) cashback to customers who filled up at its Caltex Pimlico outlet during a promotional event.

North Queensland’s main naming sponsor is Japanese automotive manufacturer Toyota.
