Sportswear giant Nike has agreed a nine-year extension to its kit supply agreement with the US Soccer Federation.
Nike will provide kits for the USA men’s and women’s full international teams, along with their associated age-group sides. Having partnered US Soccer since 1995, Nike will continue to support and develop the grassroots of the game in the country through the US Soccer Development Academy.
“Nike has been an outstanding partner and shares our long-term vision for progress, innovation, and player development,” US Soccer president Sunil Gulati said. “We have enjoyed a tremendous history together that began as we both looked to elevate soccer in this country to new heights, and we look forward to building on our progress.”
The USA men’s team will take part in its seventh consecutive Fifa World Cup in Brazil next year. However, it is the women’s team which has arguably provided the highlights of Nike’s association with US Soccer so far, winning the 1999 World Cup and four Olympic goal medals – London 2012 standing as a third straight triumph.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
