NHL’s Rangers team up with Japanese educational group

NHL ice hockey team the New York Rangers has announced a multi-year partnership with the North American branch of Japanese educational firm Kumon.

The after-school maths and reading enrichment learning programme becomes the first official learning centre of the Rangers and will benefit from premium brand integration at Madison Square Garden during the team’s home games.

Kumon will benefit from two television-visible branded dashboards at Rangers home games and will also serve as a partner of the franchise’s youth hockey camps, enjoying sponsorship opportunities on-site, space on the Youth Hockey Insiders newsletter and co-branding on the back-to-school give-away item presented to participants at the camps.

The financial terms of the deal were undisclosed.
