South Korean tyre and rubber tubing manufacturer Nexen Tire has expanded its sleeve sponsorship deal with Manchester City to include the English Premier League football club’s games in the League Cup domestic knockout competition.
In March, Nexen became the first company to sign a sleeve sponsorship deal with a Premier League club by sealing a multi-year partnership with City after the league confirmed that it would allow such agreements to come into force from the start of the 2017-18 season.
Company branding will now feature on the players’ left sleeves during all matches in the League Cup, beginning with the home tie against Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers tomorrow (Tuesday).
Terms of the new deal were not disclosed, but the original agreement between Nexen and City will run for three seasons, from 2017-18 to 2019-20.
