Newbery drives into US with American Cricket Federation deal

Cricket equipment manufacturer Newbery has agreed a five-year deal with the American Cricket Federation to become the naming sponsor of its national 40-over competition.

The tournament will now be known as the Newbery American Cricket Champions League and the UK-based company is to feature prominently in all ACCL advertising and promotions.

All teams and umpires will be provided with custom designed Newbery match kits, while the manufacturer will also produce and market ACF-licensed team apparel and merchandise.

ACF chief executive Jamie Harrison said: “We see this as a tremendous boost for cricket in the United States, as Newbery’s sponsorship of the national domestic 40-over league will do much to raise the competition’s stature and professionalism.”
