Emirates Cricket Board strikes OSN deal ahead of World T20

Pay-television broadcaster OSN, which operates in the Middle East and North Africa, has reached a deal to become the first-ever corporate sponsor of the Emirates Cricket Board.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but OSN’s logo will appear on all kit worn by the UAE men’s cricket team at major international tournaments, including the ICC World Twenty20 in Bangladesh later this month.

Additionally, OSN will be the official sponsor of the UAE’s age-group and women’s international sides, while helping to provide training and development opportunities for aspiring young players.

As a broadcaster, OSN boasts an extensive range of cricket events on its OSN Sports Cricket HD channel. In 2014, it will show the World T20, along with other non-international showpieces in the shortest format of the sport such as the Indian Premier League and Champions League T20. OSN also carries local tournaments from India, England, Australia, Bangladesh and New Zealand.

The UAE has qualified for the 2014 World T20 for the first time.
