Sports equipment manufacturer Wilson has signed a three-year partnership with the National Basketball League of Australia.
The deal runs from the upcoming 2015-16 season, with Wilson providing official game balls for all NBL matches through until the 2017-18 campaign.
The NBL will use the Wilson Solution Game Ball – currently the official ball of the National Collegiate Athletics Championship and its showpiece March Madness event in the United States.
NBL general manager Jeremy Loeliger said: “This announcement is a key milestone in the journey of the new-look NBL as we get closer to season tip-off in October. Teaming up with Wilson provides us with the opportunity to build a partnership with an iconic worldwide brand that shares our vision for the future of the NBL.”
Former co-owner and chairman of the NBL’s Melbourne United franchise, Larry Kestelman, took a controlling stake in the league in May and set out ambitious plans to improve its commercial fortunes.
