NBA’s Pacers partner with state agency

State business recruitment agency the Indiana Economic Development Corporation has signed a sponsorship deal with its local NBA basketball team the Indiana Pacers.

The Indianapolis Business Journal said following a decision by NBA owners this summer to allow advertising on court sidelines, the IEDC slogan, “A State that Works”, will appear in front of the home and visiting team benches at Bankers Life Fieldhouse – the Pacers’ home arena.

Indiana Pacers are the first NBA team to sell courtside advertising adverts to be emblazoned on the court surface.

IEDC will also benefit from advertising on the digital scorer’s table board between the two team benches, the digital ribbon board that runs around the arena’s seating, goal post pads and the logos backdrop for Pacers coach and player interviews at home games.

The deal with the Pacers comes after IEDC launched a marketing campaign on the iconic video board in New York’s Times Square, which is set to run until the end of December.

Terms and financial details of the Pacers agreement were not disclosed.
