Oil and lubricants giant Castrol has announced a major sponsorship deal with the NBA China division of the North American basketball league.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Castrol becomes the engine oil partner of NBA China.
During this season’s NBA play-offs and finals, starting April 18, Castrol will enjoy a presence on coverage shown by Chinese state broadcaster CCTV and internet operator Sina.
Lu Ping, marketing director for Castrol in China, said that he hopes the association with the NBA will help to increase his brand’s presence in the Chinese market, which it first entered in 1989.
