Bank of Ireland is to return to its role as the main sponsor of Munster Rugby after the club confirmed the signing of a five-year deal with the bank.
Although financial details of the deal have not been disclosed by Munster, the Irish Times newspaper this week said the deal could be worth up to €700,000 ($902,000) per year plus bonuses if certain targets are met.
The sponsorship deal will include exclusive branding on all playing and training kit for the Munster senior and ‘A’ teams.
Bank of Ireland began its partnership with Munster in 1998, where it held the title sponsor role until 2004, and has retained a relationship with the club ever since through its title as Munster Rugby’s official banking partner.
Current title sponsor Toyota, which took over the role from Bank of Ireland in 2004, will be replaced when its deal officially expires next month.
