Munster inks stadium naming deal with Irish Independent

Irish Pro12 rugby union team Munster has agreed a 10-year stadium naming rights deal with newspaper group Independent News & Media.

Effective from next season, Munster’s Musgrave Park home will become known as Irish Independent Park – after the media organisation’s flagship newspaper.

The terms grant Independent News & Media total and exclusive ground naming rights at Musgrave Park, along with extensive branding at the Cork ground’s entrance, directional signage and in matchday programmes.

The financial terms of the deal were undisclosed but Munster is set to be assisted with the redevelopment of its home stadium by the sponsorship. Musgrave Park opened in 1940.

Munster is currently second behind Leinster in the Pro12 table and faces French team Toulouse in the quarter-finals of the Heineken Cup on April 5.
