US collegiate sports organisation the Mountain West Conference will sponsor a new college basketball tournament to be staged in the Cayman Islands.
Organised by the Global Sports Management agency in association with Caymax Sports, the Cayman Basketball Classic will launch in November 2017.
Under its sponsorship, the Mountain West Conference will have a slot guaranteed for one of its schools at the annual eight-team pre-season tournament.
The full terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
