MLB signs latest new partner

Major League Baseball has continued its recent sponsorship drive by partnering with private office supplier W.B. Mason.

The multi-year deal names W.B. Mason as the presenting sponsor of MLB’s replay review system for the 2017 postseason. The company will also serve as the official office products supplier of MLB.

As part of the agreement, replay review technicians will wear W.B. Mason-branded shirts and caps during the 2017 postseason. The promotion extends to stadium signage, digital advertising and social media platforms, including the official @MLBReplays Twitter account.

It marks the first national sports partnership signed by W.B. Mason, although the company has held partnerships with MLB teams the Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Phillies, Washington Nationals, New York Mets, Pittsburgh Pirates and Tampa Bay Rays.

Leo K. Meehan III, president and chief executive of W.B. Mason, said: “Our MLB team partnerships have been a major contributing factor to our growth over the past decade. Who else but MLB for our first national sports deal?

“Baseball's daily presence and broad reach is a perfect fit for us as we take this significant step in elevating our brand awareness to a national level.”

The deal comes after MLB earlier this week entered into a wide-ranging partnership with YouTube, through which the video-sharing platform’s YouTube TV service will be the presenting sponsor of this year’s World Series.

The YouTube deal added to recent partnerships signed with outdoor camping products retail store chain Camping World and Korean conglomerate Doosan. The two companies will serve as the first presenting sponsors of the League Championship Series and the American League Divisional Series, respectively.
