Portuguese banking group Millennium BCP has reached a long-term agreement to become the title sponsor of the new Estoril Open ATP World Tour tennis event.
The terms of Millennium BCP’s sponsorship were not disclosed, but tournament director João Zilhão stated that it provided the necessary financial support for the Estoril Open to be established.
Zilhão said: “In order to launch the new tournament, we needed sound economic fundamentals. Millennium BCP allowed us to establish a platform in this direction and gives us the ability to design the event in the medium and long term.”
The Estoril Open will take place at Estoril Tennis Club from April 27 to May 3 this year.
It has been designated as an ATP World Tour 250 event, slotting into week 17 of the organisation’s calendar alongside the Istanbul Open and the BMW Open in Munich.
