The World Cup of Golf has recruited automotive manufacturer Mercedes-Benz as a premium partner and official vehicle of this year’s tournament at Kingston Heath Golf Club in Melbourne.
The tournament will run from November 23-27. Under the deal, Mercedes-Benz will provide a fleet of vehicles that will transport players and staff around the Australian city during the event.
The brand will also be showcased through interactive programmes at the venue, including a hole-in-one competition on the 15th green and the MB Green hospitality suite.
Mercedes-Benz owners will also be provided with their own designated parking area, which will be free to access.
Earlier this week Japanese non-profit organisation ISPS Handa was unveiled as the tournament’s title sponsor.
Horst von Sanden, managing director of Mercedes-Benz Cars and chief executive of Mercedes-Benz Australia-Pacific, said: “Worldwide, Mercedes-Benz is the proud partner of three major tournaments: The Masters, the Open Championship and the PGA Championship, and we are heavily involved at an amateur level with our global MercedesTrophy premium amateur tournament series.
“There is no doubt that the ISPS Handa World Cup of Golf tournament fits nicely with our local and global golf strategy as it is aligned with the very best tournaments around the world and has attracted some of golf's biggest names.”
