The International Cricket Council has reached an agreement for Matua Wines to become the official wine in New Zealand for the 2015 World Cup.
Under the agreement, Matua will be supplied to all venues in New Zealand – the co-host for the international team tournament alongside Australia.
ICC general manager of commercial Campbell Jamieson said: “Matua is a renowned brand that has a strong presence both in New Zealand and across the region and we know that supporters will enjoy the offering across New Zealand venues at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. We are excited to welcome another strong brand to the commercial family for this competition and look forward to welcoming additional partners in the weeks and months to come.”
The deal follows a similar tie-up with Wolf Blass. The Australian winery was last month confirmed as the official wine in Australia for the World Cup, which runs from February 14 before concluding with the March 29 final in Melbourne.
