English Premier League football club Manchester City has entered into a regional partnership with Ballr, an engagement technology company that specialises in fantasy sports.
The deal, the length of which was not disclosed, names Ballr as an official partner of the club in China, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The announcement comes ahead of next month’s launch of Ballr Football, a free digital gaming platform that will focus on the Premier League. Users of the platform will receive the chance to win exclusive merchandise and trips to Manchester City home games.
“Our new partnership with Ballr is an exciting opportunity to engage with Manchester City fans in the digital sphere and to offer them further opportunities to connect with the club,” Damian Willoughby, senior vice-president of partnerships at City Football Group, which owns the club, said.
“Manchester City is committed to enhancing the fan experience and bringing supporters together. Ballr shares these values with us and we look forward to building this partnership together.”
