English Premier League football club Manchester City has secured a global partnership with South Korean tyre and rubber tubing manufacturer Nexen Tire.
As City’s official tyre partner, Nexen Tire will benefit from a presence on LED advertising boards during home matches at the Etihad Stadium.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the company will also assume the naming rights of the community bridge linking the Etihad Stadium with the City Football Academy training complex.
Nexen Tire replaces Suisse Gas as the naming sponsor of the community bridge, rights that the energy company took on as part of a three-year commercial partnership with Manchester City last November.
Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano said of the Nexen Tire deal: “We have millions of followers in South Korea and we will be able to provide them with more engaging experiences.”
City begins its 2015-16 Premier League campaign against West Bromwich Albion on Monday, August 10.
