English Premier League football club Manchester City has partnered with LG to make the Korean electronics firm its official digital display partner.
Under the two-year deal, LG installed more than 360 digital LED screens at City’s Etihad Stadium ahead of the 2013-14 season, ranging from 22-inch to 47-inch devices throughout the ground’s premium suits, hospitality boxes, fan concourses and food and beverage kiosks.
More than 320 flat-screens, which can be used for television or digital signage, will also feature in the City Football Academy – the club’s new 80-acre training complex adjacent to the Etihad Stadium, which is due to open next summer.
LG will use City players and the club crest in advertising, packaging and point-of-sale globally under the deal, while it will also benefit from pitch-side branding and advertising space in City’s matchday programme.
