Liverpool makes first Indian signing with Xolo deal

Indian smart phone brand Xolo has reached an agreement with Liverpool to become the English Premier League football club’s first regional marketing partner in the country.

Under the three-year deal, Indian fans will enjoy tailored Liverpool content on their mobile handsets and the opportunity to win exclusive merchandise, meet-and-greet opportunities with players and tickets to home matches at Anfield. In addition, Xolo will work with Liverpool’s official supporters' club to deliver Liverpool-themed events and fan tournaments.

The announcement follows the launch of Liverpool’s full-time coaching academy in Pune, which will open next year to develop young players in India while serving local club DSK Shivajians.

Liverpool’s chief commercial officer Billy Hogan said: "We have millions of fans in India and we are committed to bringing the club closer to them. Teaming up with Xolo and launching our very first international academy in Pune represent the start of our journey in India to make fans feel like their club is right on their doorstep."
