English Premier League club Liverpool has reached a three-year partnership with video games company Electronic Arts.
Under the deal, Electronic Arts’ EA Sports brand becomes Liverpool’s official football video gaming partner from the start of the 2013-14 season and the club will enjoy a range of tie-ups with its flagship Fifa football game.
EA Sports has performed 3D scans of the faces of Liverpool players Steven Gerrard, Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho to be included in Fifa 14 when it is released next month.
Liverpool fans will have access to a free download of a Fifa 14 cover featuring the trio and EA Sports will create bespoke content for the club throughout the forthcoming campaign, when supporters will be able to play Fifa 14 at Anfield for selected fixtures.
Liverpool is the latest addition to EA Sports’ football club portfolio. Fellow Premier League clubs Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are also partners, along with Barcelona and Valencia of the Spanish Liga; Borussia Dortmund from the German Bundesliga; Olympique Lyonnais and Paris Saint-Germain from Ligue 1 in France, and AC Milan of Italy’s Serie A.
