Las Vegas tourist body secures Breeders’ Cup partnership

Nevada tourism body the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) has struck a partnership deal with the 2014 edition of the Breeders’ Cup US horseracing showpiece, which will take place in the neighbouring US state of California.

Under the deal, the Las Vegas organisation will benefit from branding on signage inside Santa Anita Park, the Los Angeles racecourse that will host the event from October 31 to November 1.

The LVCVA will also be promoted on the official Breeders’ Cup website.

In addition, the LVCVA will receive a number of commercial units in the telecast of the event, which will be broadcast by the NBC Sport Group division of US media company NBCUniversal.

Craig Fravel, president and chief executive officer of the Breeders’ Cup, said: “This agreement allows both organisations to capitalise on the natural synergies and like-minded customer fan bases so attractive to both Las Vegas and its close proximity to the Los Angeles area.”
