Japanese machinery manufacturer Kubota has agreed a sponsorship deal for the 2015 Southeast Asian Games in Singapore.
Kubota will supply S$1m (€670,000/$750,000) in cash sponsorship to the multi-sport event – an amount that will represent its largest in support of a sporting event in Southeast Asia.
The partnership with Kubota brings the total number of sponsors for the 28th SEA Games to 70. The Today newspaper said the organising committee had an overall sponsorship target of S$50m, but has already raised S$70m.
Kubota is an established presence in rugby union and serves as the naming sponsor of Japanese top division team Kubota Spears.
The 2015 SEA Games take place from June 5-16.
