Karcher cleans up with Dakar Rally deal

Cleaning products and accessories company Karcher has renewed its partnership with the Dakar Rally for the 2014 edition of the motorsport event.

Next year’s race will be the Dakar Rally’s sixth year in South America and Karcher will cover the route linking Argentina, Bolivia and Chile with four cleaning stations, while also hosting a booth at the Dakar Village in Rosario to engage with fans through activities such as meet-and-greets with drivers from the X-raid and KTM teams.

During the 2013 Dakar Rally, 5,000 vehicles were washed at Karcher cleaning stations, a near-2,000 increase on 2012, and the technology used allowed water savings of almost 80 per cent when compared to a traditional car wash.

As in the previous two editions, Karcher will support the X-raid and KTM teams, the former home to France’s 11-time Dakar Rally winner and reigning champion Stephane Peterhansel.

The first stage of the 2014 Dakar Rally will run from Rosario to San Luis, Argentina on January 5.
