Indian tyre manufacturer Ceat has renewed its sponsorship of the Indian Premier League, while the Twenty20 cricket competition has also signed a new partnership with e-commerce firm Paytm.
Ceat will continue to serve as the official strategic time out partner of the league for the next five years through to 2022. It has been a partner of the IPL since 2015.
Ceat managing director Anant Goenka said: “This is an ideal platform for us to strengthen our brand prominence and visibility across the globe. The IPL has seen a meteoric rise in viewership and brand value in the past decade, and we are confident that the next five years will be equally momentous for Vivo IPL and Ceat alike.”
Paytm, meanwhile, has signed a five-year deal to become the official umpire partner of the IPL. Paytm is already the title sponsor of India’s home cricket series through an agreement signed in 2015 with the Board of Control for Cricket in India that is due to run through to September 2019.
The 2018 IPL season gets underway on April 7.
