Multinational sporting goods retailer Intersport has extended a deal to continue as main sponsor of the 2015-16 Vierschanzentournee, ski jumping’s showpiece series that is also known as the Four Hills Tournament.
Under the deal, Intersport will benefit from various advertising opportunities across the four competitions that make up the series, which takes place on an annual basis in a number of locations across Germany and Austria.
This will include branding on LED and rotation boards as well as on athlete bibs, leaderboards and winner backdrops.
Intersport has established a strong affiliation with ski jumping, having served as main and title sponsor of the Springertournee for over 25 years. In 1995, the event was renamed as Vierschanzentournee.
The latest contract was brokered by the Infront Sports & Media agency, which serves as the exclusive marketing partner of the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV) and the German Ski Federation (DSV) for the series.
Franz Julen, chief executive of Intersport International Corporation, said: “Winter sport is and remains one of the major product categories for Intersport. The visibility at the Vierschanzentournee ideally complements our various winter sports marketing activities.”
The 2015/16 Vierschanzentournee will take place from December 28 through to January 6 and includes the four events in Oberstdorf, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Innsbruck and Bischofshofen.
