US motor racing series IndyCar has announced a multi-year partnership with the USA Today Sports Media Group.
Under the agreement, USA Today Sports and its affiliated properties becomes a preferred marketing partner of IndyCar in the United States.
IndyCar and its official sponsors will be able to purchase advertising at preferred rates from USA Today, while the media company will help to develop several IndyCar-themed sections throughout the partnership.
USA Today will also expand its digital coverage of IndyCar via USAToday.com and engage in greater editorial collaboration with the Indianapolis Star, which comes under the same Gannett ownership group.
IndyCar chief marketing officer CJ O’Donnell said: “USA Today reaches millions of potential fans every day and this partnership is a big step forward in our efforts to grow the IndyCar Series. This partnership will ensure we leverage USA Today’s digital and print platforms to showcase our drivers, and the excitement of our sport, to an expansive audience.”
