Chinese telecommunications company Huawei has continued its major investment in football by signing a sponsorship deal with Spanish Liga champion Atlético Madrid.
Under the two-year deal, Huawei branding will appear on the sleeves of players’ shirts and training wear.
Huawei will also work with the club on a range of promotional activities and communications.
Atlético Madrid president Enrique Cerezo said: “Our relationship with Huawei reinforces without a doubt our strategy to grow hand in hand with large companies, and who better to link with than the telecommunications leader of the world.”
Earlier this week, Huawei also agreed a deal with Galatasaray to become the Turkish Super Lig club's main shirt sponsor in domestic competitions during the 2014-15 season.
In July the company signed a two-year deal with German Bundesliga club Schalke 04 having recently agreed deals with Dutch Eredivisie champion Ajax and French Ligue 1 winner Paris Saint-Germain. Huawei also has deals in place with Italian Serie A giant AC Milan and English Premier League club Arsenal, along with the Spanish Football League (LFP).
