Handball Bundesliga club energised by Duracell partnership

US battery brand Duracell has been named the premium partner of German Handball Bundesliga team Rhein-Neckar Löwen.

The two parties have agreed a season-long deal, which will become effective on July 1 and cover the 2016-17 campaign. Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.

Under the agreement, Duracell’s branding will feature on the club’s playing jerseys. Fan activations will also be organised at Rhein-Neckar Löwen’s SAP Arena home venue, while the club’s lion mascot and the Duracell Bunny will be present on match days.

In April, Löwen Entertainment, a subsidiary of global gambling company Novomatic, agreed a three-season deal to become the club’s main sponsor. As part of the deal, Löwen Entertainment’s ‘Admiral’ casino and sports betting brand will feature on the front of the club’s jerseys.

Rhein-Neckar Löwen currently sits top of the Bundesliga table, one point ahead of second-placed SG Flensburg-Handewitt.
