Gold Coast 2018 hires new supplier

Equipment rental company Coates Hire has agreed a supplier partnership with organisers of next year’s edition of the Commonwealth Games multi-sport event, which will take place in Australia’s Gold Coast region.

As the Games’ official equipment hire supplier, Coates Hire will provide more than 250 portable buildings for the event, of which 98 will be built locally in Brisbane.

The buildings will be used for general administration during the Games, as well as for ticketing purposes, IT server rooms and for housing the media for commentary, broadcast production and newsroom work.

Coates Hire also supported the 2006 Commonwealth Games, which were held in Melbourne.

Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation general manager of commercial, Cameron Murray, said “Coates Hire is an established market leader and a strong supporter of major events. With 130 years of experience, they are a great addition to the GC2018 sponsor family.

“They bring a high degree of capability to the table which provides GOLDOC with certainty to deliver ahead of the Games commencing. It is great to see sponsors who were a part of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games continuing to support the Commonwealth Games movement.”
