Telecommunications company Gigaset has signed up as an official partner of the Ascot racecourse and the UK horseracing venue’s prestigious Royal meeting.
The agreement will run for five years, from 2015 to 2019. The Gigaset brand will feature throughout Ascot’s flat and jump racing seasons, including at the iconic Royal Ascot event.
“This partnership heralds a new phase in Gigaset history as we move to develop further smart product technologies, including mobile devices and smartphones,” Gigaset chief executive Charles Fränkl said.
At the Royal meeting in June, a representative of Gigaset will present a trophy to the connections of one of the winning horses. Gigaset will also sponsor two races at additional meetings later this year – the Gigaset International Handicap Stakes on July 25 and the Cumberland Lodge Stakes on October 3.
Guy Henderson, chief executive at Ascot Racecourse Limited, said: “Gigaset mirrors our own philosophy with dedication to high quality engineering combined with forward thinking technology.”
