AFL Aussie rules football team the Geelong Cats has entered into a multi-faceted partnership with local health insurance provider GMHBA.
The 10-year deal will cover the 2017 to 2026 AFL seasons, with GMHBA’s logo to feature on the team’s playing shorts and home game match ball as part of the agreement.
It will mark the first time in over 10 years a Geelong-based company has appeared on the Cats’ shorts or match ball.
GMHBA and the Cats will develop a ‘Healthy Heroes’ programme, which will promote a healthy and active lifestyle for children. The programme will focus on Year 3 and 4 students in the G21 region, with Cats players to deliver health messages in schools.
It has also been reported that GMHBA will take on naming rights to the Cats’ Simonds Stadium home ground from 2018.
GMHBA chief executive Mark Valena said: “We’re in this for the long haul and we’re excited about the reach and profile GMHBA will receive through this partnership, which will underpin our continued business success within the core health insurance business and boost our presence in the delivery of front line health care services.”
