Formula One motor-racing team Force India has entered into a partnership with Mexican oil and gas company Pemex.
As part of the agreement, Pemex’s branding will feature on the wing mirrors of Force India’s cars, and on the racesuits of drivers Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon.
The deal, which covers the 2018 season, also grants Pemex exposure on team clothing and other assets.
Pemex becomes the latest Mexican company to partner with Force India. Perez is from Mexico and the country is a key market for the team. Other Mexican partners include Infinitum, Telmex, Telcel and Vonhaucke.
Pemex chief executive Carlos Alberto Treviño said: “The global appeal of the sport provides an ideal stage to increase our brand awareness and to show our clients, franchisees, investors and consumers the strength and support of the brand which has entered a new open market environment. We want to begin a novel and exciting venture to show our evolution.”
The 2018 F1 season gets underway in Melbourne, Australia on March 25.
