The English Football League has terminated its sponsorship deal with betting service company Bet Butler half way through a two-year agreement worth about £2.6m (€3.1m/$4.1m) per season, according to the Daily Mail newspaper.
Bet Butler served as the league’s official gambling partner, but it is understood to have been unable to meet the terms of the contract.
Energy company Npower’s three-year lead sponsorship deal with the Football League expired at the end of the 2012-13 season and league officials have yet to find a replacement ahead of the announcement of the 2013-14 fixtures tomorrow.
