Fina, the global governing body of aquatic sports, has extended a commercial partnership with Chinese domestic appliances manufacturer Midea until 2017.
The new agreement ensures Midea will continue as an official Fina partner for the 2014 World Swimming Championships (25m) in Doha (Qatar), the 2015 World Championships in Kazan (Russia) 2015, the 2016 World Swimming Championships (25m) in Windsor (UK) and the 2017 World Championships in Guadalajara (Mexico).
Midea will also hold the right to be the sponsor of the Fina World Record Programme for these events.
Fina president Dr. Julio C. Maglione said: “The Fina World Championships is broadcasted in over 200 territories and reached, for the last edition in Barcelona 2013, a total of 4.5 billion cumulative TV viewers worldwide. These impressive figures constitute a great benefit to Midea and to all our partners.”
