Network solutions provider Extreme Networks has signed up as the first official Wi-Fi provider for American football’s NFL.
The expanded sponsorship deal has been announced after Extreme Networks became the official Wi-Fi analytics provider of the NFL earlier this year. Under the new arrangement, the company will work with the league to “enhance the fan experience through Extreme Networks' technology in NFL stadia.”
Extreme Networks' Wi-Fi solutions are currently deployed at the home stadia of six NFL teams – the New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals, Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans.
“Enhancing the fan experience continues to be one the NFL's top priorities,” the league’s chief information officer, Michelle McKenna-Doyle, said. “By teaming up with Extreme Networks, we're building the technology infrastructure needed and delivering on the high standards we have put in place to give our fans the type of experience they deserve.”
Extreme Networks president and chief executive Chuck Berger added: “We live in a world transformed by digital technology, and as a society, we've developed heightened expectations about how technology should support us – at work, at home and even at stadia. As the official Wi-Fi solutions provider and Wi-Fi analytics provider of the NFL, we're helping the league to meet and exceed expectations during games for today's highly connected fans.”
