Catalan brewery Estrella Damm has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Barcelona 2013 organising committee for the 15th International Swimming Federation (FINA) World Championships.
The event, which runs from July 19 to August 4, will play host to six aquatic sports – swimming, synchronised swimming, water polo, diving, open water swimming and high diving – in four venues across Barcelona.
Under the new agreement, Estrella Damm will provide water and beer for the championship and set up a stand entitled 'Mediterràniament' in the Planet Water Village. Additionally, it will organise a variety of promotional activities in the event’s hospitality area.
The FINA tie-up reinforces Estrella Damm’s sporting presence in Barcelona, where it has commercial agreements with the city’s Spanish Liga football clubs Barcelona and Espanyol.
