Gaming products manufacturer Nvidia has been unveiled as the first sponsor of Esports Stadium Arlington, which is due to officially open to the public tomorrow (Saturday).
According to the Esports Observer website, Nvidia GeForce will serve as the official graphics platform of the stadium, which is the largest venue of its kind in North America.
The company has sponsored a range of esports events in the past, including The International, which is contested by players of the Dota 2 battle arena game.
The venue has been designed by Populous and is located in Arlington’s entertainment district. This weekend the facility will stage the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive ECS Season 6 finals, which will have a prize fund of $660,000 (€581,000).
Events at Esports Stadium Arlington will be managed by NGAGE Esports, whose president, Jonathon Oudthone, said: “Working with Nvidia was a no brainer. As the largest dedicated esports facility in North America, there’s a level of performance that we must adhere to. Competitive integrity is our highest priority, so we chose Nvidia – we wouldn’t settle for hardware that was anything less than the best.”
