Saudi-owned English Premier League club Newcastle United has been given the green light to sign up sponsors from the kingdom on condition that the club adheres to new league rules on owner-related deals.
A vote by the 20 Premier League clubs yesterday sanctioned the club to sign an unlimited number of sponsorships with Saudi-owned enterprises but insists that each deal will be scrutinised for fair value so that the club does not gain financial advantage from potentially inflated rights fees.
