Battery manufacturer Energizer has been unveiled as the latest sponsor of this year’s Rugby League World Cup, which will take place in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
Energizer will benefit from brand integration through ball boys and girls and junior team mascots at the national team tournament, which runs from October 26 to December 2.
The company will also receive advertising exposure through virtual and LED signage at matches.
Fan engagement activities will be organised to promote the partnership, with the company’s Mr Energizer mascot to feature in a ‘dance cam’ initiative.
Energizer’s marketing director, David Pattinson, said: “The game’s need for power and endurance is aligned to what we strive for as a brand, and the tournament’s broad appeal at this time of year will give the brand great exposure to a mass audience.”
