Emirates Airline has further enhanced its tennis sponsorship portfolio by agreeing a multi-year deal with the Australian Open tournament.
The partnership with the Australian Open means Emirates now has commercial ties with three of tennis’ four annual Grand Slam events due to existing deals with the French Open and US Open.
Emirates will be recognised as the official airline partner of the Australian Open. It holds a similar designation with the ATP World Tour and is the title sponsor of the rankings system for men’s tennis.
The airline also counts the US Open Series, the Dubai Tennis Championship, BNP Paribas Open, Barcelona Open, Internazionali BNL d’Italia and Rogers Cup among its tennis portfolio.
Sir Tim Clark, president of Emirates Airline, said: “The Australian Open is a first class sporting event drawing a truly global audience to Melbourne Park each summer, while millions more watch the action on screen. Our commitment to the Australian Open is a natural extension of our existing tennis sponsorship portfolio around the globe, which now includes three of the four Grand Slams.”
