Emil Frey revealed as first 2021 Winter Universiade gold partner

Car dealership Emil Frey has been unveiled as the first gold partner of the 2021 Winter Universiade in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Emil Frey will serve as the official partner for cars and commercial vehicles at the multi-sport event. The company will provide about 250 vehicles in total.

Under the arrangement, car rental company Hertz will manage the distribution of vehicles, including brands such as Toyota, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Kia, Suzuki and Jaguar Land Rover. Emil Frey acquired Hertz’s car rental business in Switzerland in 2012.

The event, which is operated by Fisu, the International University Sports Federation, will feature more than 2,500 student athletes from around the world.

The Winter Universiade is being jointly organised by the cantons of Lucerne, Uri, Schwyz, Obwalden, Nidwalden and Zug, as well as the City of Lucerne, with 10 sporting disciplines set to be held across seven venues from January 21-31.
