Irish telecommunications company Eir has extended a sponsorship deal with the Gaelic Athletics Association’s (GAA) All-Ireland Football Championship.
According to reports in the country, the multi-million-euro deal will run for five years, from 2016 to 2020.
Eir will run an advertising and communications campaign to demonstrate how technology is positively impacting the sport, as well as its players, supporters and the communities involved.
In addition, Eir, which will serve as the competition’s main technology partner, will run a weekly quiz through which fans can win match tickets and one-on-one player experiences.
The deal comes after the GAA last week also extended an agreement with Irish supermarket chain SuperValu.
