Eintracht Frankfurt has signed a three-year partnership with savings bank Frankfurter Sparkasse, while the German Bundesliga football club is reportedly closing in on a new stadium naming rights deal Commerzbank.
The agreement with Frankfurter Sparkasse runs until the end of the 2016-17 season.
Frankfurter Sparkasse replaces the Helaba Group in this designation at Eintracht Frankfurt and will provide incentives for fans who are holders of its Eagle Card.
Meanwhile, according to reports by sports newspaper Bild, banking group banking and financial services group Commerzbank is set to extend its title sponsorship of Eintracht’s home stadium until 2020.
Commerzbank has held the naming rights since 2005, when the stadium was opened for the Fifa Confederations Cup ahead of Germany’s hosting of the World Cup the following year.
Bild suggests that Commerzbank will increase its annual payment to Eintracht Frankfurt to €3.5m ($4.4m) per season, up from €3m and amounting to an additional €2.5m over the course of the five-year agreement.
The new deal is expected to be signed by Christmas.
