The Duke Athletics division of US college Duke University has agreed a 12-year extension to its partnership with the sportswear giant Nike.
The new contract will run from 2016 until 2027. Nike will continue to supply the Blue Devils’ 27 athletics teams with kit, footwear, apparel and equipment as part of the agreement. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The partnership began in 1992, and the Blue Devils have since established themselves as one of the Atlantic Coast Conference’s leading forces.
Duke vice-president and director of athletics Kevin White said: “Today’s announcement relative to this unique relationship signals yet another long-term agreement, which will provide more cutting-edge product innovation in addition to significant financial resources, whereby the student-athlete experience will be greatly enhanced – both in and away from competition – well into the foreseeable future.”
Duke University is based in Durham, North Carolina.
