Global logistics company DHL has entered into a partnership with sports and entertainment giant AEG, and extended a shirt sponsorship deal with English Premiership rugby union club Harlequins.
DHL has agreed a three-year deal to serve as the official logistics partner of a host of AEG facilities around the world, including The O2 in London.
Harlequins’ extended deal with DHL begins with the 2017-18 Premiership season and runs until 2022.
DHL’s branding will continue to feature on the front of the London-based club’s shirts as part of the agreement. The company will also continue to support Harlequins’ academy and elite player development group, as well as the club’s ladies team.
In addition, DHL will seek to expand Harlequins’ retail offering and develop the club’s grassroots initiatives.
DHL marked the signing of the two partnerships by inviting Harlequins players to take part in Up at The O2, the venue’s urban mountaineering experience.
Ian Wilson, chief executive of DHL Express UK and Ireland, said: “DHL is the specialist for delivering global events around the world. As official logistics partner, we are proudly committed to our partners and highlight our dedication to offering innovative solutions for complex logistics tasks in sport, arts and culture arenas. Such world-class events enhance the profile of our brand and provide an excellent platform to experience DHL logistics live.”
DHL first teamed up with Harlequins in 2012 and became the club’s principal partner in 2014.
